The ARK

Being Jesus to the lost, broken & rejected

The ARK is a special community and ministry of residential care, Christian discipleship and rehabilitation, based in Diki’s hometown of Churachandpur (CCPur), Manipur, NE India.

Our vision is to see those who have slipped through the cracks of our society restored and transformed by the love of Jesus – those struggling with addiction and homelessness, those who may be HIV+ and/or suffering other physical or mental health issues.

Isaiah 61 is our theme Scripture for the ARK, “to proclaim good news to the poor, bind up the broken-hearted, proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners”. Our mission is the rebuilding, renewing and restoring of broken, ruined, devastated lives.

By being Jesus to those who have lost their way, broken in spirit and rejected by their families and society the ARK offers a loving Christian family to which they can belong and then grow.

The ARK is a place where the hopeless and neglected can find freedom from their past self-destructive lifestyles and find healing & purpose for their lives. Our aim is that they become disciples of Jesus, strong and committed in their Christian faith. When ready, we assist them to return to their families as productive members of the community once again and as an inspiration and encouragement to others suffering in the town.

We live and operate by faith, praying & trusting God to meet all our needs. Our priority is helping the poor. All our care is given without charge. The ARK is open and accessible to everyone regardless of their social status, background, past mistakes or whatever life has thrown at them.

The ARK is a ministry of the Living Word Centre (LWC), registered in Manipur under the Society’s Act in India, and is supported from the UK by the Word for Life Trust (WFLT), registered with the UK Charity Commission.

Diki’s desire to simply be a blessing, a Jesus friend, as she would say, to the lost, broken and rejected in her town has grown into a well-established and unique ministry of God’s love in action. We are excited to see what God has in store in the next 15 years!
